Waking up at Arctic Adventures is quite a surreal experience; no matter which window you peer out of, you are surrounded by dogs. One hundred of them. They are huskies in all conceiveable colours, some with ice-blue eyes, and some with brown, som are furry, and some are sleek. All of them are working dogs, as Hege runs a highly successful dogsledding company.
After a breakfast of green smoothies, Justine Curgenven and I decided to go kayaking. We borrowed Monica Bryn’s car, and drove out to Skulsfjord. Our plan was to circumnavigate Vågsøyna. While we unloaded the kayaks, the four fellows pictured in the image below had fun in the playground across the road.
We had a bit of a headwind, but assured ourselves that this would be a great benefit coming back.
